Structured thematically, the book blends editorial rigour with emotive storytelling and captures major eras of AECI’s development from its foundations in the explosives industry to its diversification, global expansion and deepening investment in environmental and social responsibility. The launch is both a tribute and a transition, coinciding with a significant moment of leadership change at board level as AECI recognises the remarkable tenure of Dr Khotso Mokhele, who retires as Chairman of the Board, and welcomes Philisiwe Sibiya as incoming Chairman. Both leaders represent ethical stewardship, accountability and bold ambition that has long defined AECI’s leadership ethos.
