Africa’s Health Future Starts Here

Cape Town is preparing to host one of the most significant healthcare gatherings on the continent as the World Health Expo (WHX) Cape Town 2025 takes place from 2–4 September at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

Formerly known as Africa Health, this rebranded and expanded event is now the largest and most comprehensive platform for healthcare innovation, collaboration, and learning in Africa. Organised by Informa Markets, a global leader in trade exhibitions and conferences, WHX Cape Town aims to unite clinical, digital, and wellness communities under one roof. This event is designed to accelerate healthcare development across Africa by fostering partnerships, introducing new technologies, and connecting global advancements to local needs.

A Global Gateway to African Healthcare

With over 500 regional and international exhibitors from more than 55 countries expected, WHX Cape Town 2025 will offer attendees the chance to explore the latest in medical equipment, imaging and diagnostics, disposables, digital health tools, laboratory technology, and hospital infrastructure. It serves as a vital entry point for accessing Africa’s fast-growing healthcare market and offers buyers and professionals the opportunity to source high-quality products and solutions. In addition to the exhibition, the event will feature a full programme of content-rich conference sessions, allowing healthcare professionals to stay up to date with current practices and earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) points.

Conferences, Innovation Zones and Networking

The expo will include more than 20 accredited conference sessions and feature over 30 international and African healthcare experts. Key topics will include healthcare leadership, patient safety, digital transformation, clinical practice, and sustainable health systems. Innovation will be at the forefront, particularly in the Transformation Zone, which will showcase groundbreaking solutions and celebrate notable achievements in the healthcare sector. Entrepreneurial energy will shine through the Innov8 Start-up Competition, highlighting disruptive new businesses in med-tech, and the Cre8 Student Entrepreneurship Challenge, aimed at nurturing the next generation of African health leaders. The Hosted Buyers Programme will also return, strategically connecting exhibitors with vetted purchasing professionals to create high-value business opportunities.

Thrive and WHX Labs: A Holistic View of Health

WHX Cape Town will run alongside two co-located events: WHX Labs Cape Town, which focuses on medical laboratory science and diagnostics, and the inaugural Thrive by WHX. Thrive is a new lifestyle and wellness experience showcasing innovations in fitness, nutrition, longevity, mental health, and overall well-being. Together, these events represent a holistic view of the healthcare ecosystem—from clinical excellence and infrastructure to personal health empowerment.

Why Cape Town?

Cape Town, with its world-class infrastructure, vibrant atmosphere, and established role as a leader in health tourism, is the ideal setting for WHX 2025. The event aligns closely with the Western Cape Government’s Growth for Jobs Strategy and ongoing investments in health innovation, sustainability, and regional economic development.
