Ahead of Asia Cup, Dream11 backs out as Team India’s jersey sponsor
India is preparing for their Asia Cup 2025 campaign in the UAE, where they will open against the hosts. However, just 18 days before their first match, the team has reportedly suffered a setback as they might enter the tournament without a jersey sponsor.
According to NDTV, Dream11 — the fantasy sports company — has withdrawn its sponsorship of the Indian men’s cricket team.
This move comes after the Indian Parliament passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, which prohibits real-money gaming platforms.
Neither the BCCI nor Dream11 has officially confirmed the development so far. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated on Friday that the board would comply fully with the country’s laws, noting that if something isn’t permissible, they would refrain from doing it.
Reports also indicate that the BCCI is expected to invite fresh bids for jersey sponsorship soon. If a deal is not finalised before the Asia Cup begins on September 9, India could participate in the tournament without a lead sponsor.
Although jerseys featuring the Dream11 logo have already been printed, they will not be used for the event.
