Ahold Delhaize announced Monday it is experiencing a security issue within its network and has taken some systems offline “to help protect them.”

Ahold Delhaize USA’s five banner websites — Hannaford, Stop & Shop, Giant Food, Food Lion and The Giant Company — were down Monday morning.

Of parent company Ahold Delhaize’s dozen international banners, Albert Heijn, Etos and Gall & Gall, all with locations in the company’s home base of the Netherlands, were down as of Monday morning.

When Grocery Dive reached out to ADUSA for comment, the company said it did not have any additional statement beyond Monday’s press release and added that it has no timeline on when its systems will come back online.

Ahold Delhaize did not specify in the press release if any in-store operations were impacted, but said all stores are open.

In late 2024, Ahold Delhaize dealt with a cybersecurity incident that potentially exposed sensitive information belonging to more than 2 million people.

That incident forced some systems offline, caused outages on banner websites and temporarily suspended Hannaford’s e-commerce services. The security breach might have compromised sensitive information from current and former employees as well as their dependents and beneficiaries, but likely not customer payment or pharmacy systems, Ahold Delhaize said.
