All the Celebrity Couples at the Venice Film Festival

The Venice Film Festival is well underway, and we’re already hearing chatter about Oscar-worthy performances (who else is excited to see Jacob Elordi as Dr. Frankenstein’s monster?). But the festival isn’t just for watching movies and applauding for an absurdly long amount of time — it turns out, it’s also a great spot to mix business with pleasure. Celebrities are using the events of the week as fancy date nights, and I’m not mad about it. In fact, I’m ecstatic.

A slew of celeb couples attended the premiere of Jay Kelly on Thursday night, including Billy Crudup and Naomi Watts, who reportedly “couldn’t keep their hands off of each other,” per “Page Six.” Adam Sandler and his wife, Jackie, also walked the carpet with their two teenage daughters, Sadie and Sunny. Although he was reportedly sick with a sinus infection, George Clooney ended up attending the premiere with his wife Amal, who wore a stunning fuschia gown that billowed in the wind so perfectly it almost looked AI-generated.

A beardless Andrew Garfield and his girlfriend, Monica Barbaro, also turned the week into a romantic getaway. They arrived in Italy holding hands and looking very cute ahead of the premiere of Garfield’s latest film, After the Hunt, directed by Luca Guadagnino. Although they walked the carpet separately, they’re both in the cast of Guadagnino’s next movie, Artificial, so hopefully we’ll catch them at next year’s festival promoting their work. Maybe they’ll show up wearing matching Dior looks again.

Julia Roberts was also at the premiere of After the Hunt, which just so happened to be her Venice Film Festival debut. Her husband, Danny Moder, was there to support her and be the perfect Instagram husband by snapping some glam photos of her on the carpet. It looks like the two had an adorable end to their night — Roberts shared a photo of them on social media cuddled up in a water taxi, taking in the Italian breeze. Must be nice.

In other celeb couple news, Kaia Gerber and Lewis Pullman made their red carpet debut for the premiere of The Testament of Ann Lee, where they wore matching black ensembles and packed on the PDA. It’s no Oscar Isaac armpit kiss, but Pullman pecking Gerber’s shoulder was, admittedly, an adorable moment. Congrats to all the lovebirds.
