“We reject such objectionable comments on matters that are internal to India. We have lodged a strong protest with the Turkish ambassador. Such unwarranted statements on India’s territorial integrity and sovereignty are unacceptable,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had said.
Jaiswal stressed that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and mentioned that Pakistan’s cross border terrorism policy against India remains the biggest threat to the people of UT.”Jammu and Kashmir are integral parts of India. It would have been better if Pakistan’s policy of using cross-border terrorism against India, which remains the biggest threat to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, has been called out”
Why Turkey supported Pakistan during Op Sindoor?
Turkey, along with Azerbaijan and China, were among the few countries that had openly supported Pakistan during the recent India-Pakistan conflict, and also armed the Pakistani forces with advanced military drones like the Bayraktar TB2, which were actively used against Indian installations during Operation Sindoor.
However, Ankara paid a heavy price for its decisions as Turkey’s tourism economy has dipped by a massive 37 percent, primarily because of Indian tourists boycotting the country as a tourist destination.
