Ghaati on OTT: Where to watch Anushka Shetty’s film online

We at OTTplay have come to know that Amazon Prime Video has spent a whopping ₹36 crore to acquire the digital rights. This is the highest-ever price for any female-centric film in the South and shows the kind of following Anushka Shetty commands, despite not doing many films of late.

Vikram Prabhu in Ghaati

The news is also that Ghaati will be out on OTT within a month of its theatrical release, and that is one of the reasons Amazon Prime Video has spent big on the film.

Ghaati also features Tamil actor Vikram Prabhu in a key role. Krish, of Vedham and Hari Hara Veera Mallu fame, has directed the film on a massive scale. A source close to the unit has revealed to us that Ghaati has been made on a budget of ₹45 crore, and out of that, ₹36 crore has already been recovered through digital rights.

Additionally, the pre-release business is reportedly being locked at ₹12 crore in the Telugu states. If the film opens on a positive note, this amount will be easy to recover.

It has been quite some time since we saw Anushka Shetty on the big screen. Her last film was Miss Shetty and Mr Polishetty, which was a big hit at the box office. Anushka played the bold role of a 40-year-old woman who chooses surrogacy and lands in major issues.

Anushka plays a village belle in Ghaati

In Ghaati, she will be seen as a village belle and will perform intense action sequences, as per reports. Krish has already directed Anushka in Vedham, and this marks their second collaboration. Krish had also been directing Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, but as the film kept getting postponed, he backed out and gave the green light to Anushka’s Ghaati.

With such a positive response to the film even before the trailer has been released, the makers are set for huge profits once the film hits screens.
