YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. The annual nationwide event “Science Week: Armenia 2025” will commence on September 30 at Freedom Square in Yerevan and will continue until October 5.
As stated by Lilit Margaryan, the head of the Popularization and Public Relations Department of the “Power of Science” initiative, during a press conference on Friday, the “Science Week” event, which carries the motto “Developing through Science,” will feature a six-day festival at Freedom Square, career guidance activities, and events centered around science fiction.
“The event will encompass public laboratories, open lectures, experimental zones, career guidance platforms, children’s science games, and meetings with scientists and artists, along with science fiction-themed activities. It is anticipated that the event will engage 300 to 400 schools and kindergartens,” Margaryan remarked.
Tamara Sargsyan, the Head of the General Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, highlighted that the objective of the event is to foster long-term public interest in science at both the individual and institutional levels.
“Various packages have been designed for the execution of scientific research and projects, tailored for children of different age groups attending kindergartens and schools,” Sargsyan noted.
The inaugural Science Week in Armenia took place in 2024, initiated by the “Power of Science” program with the backing of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Yerevan Municipality. The event attracted over 20,000 visitors, with 192 schools and kindergartens participating, and 38 universities, research institutes, and educational and technology companies showcasing their work.-0-
