WASHINGTON (TNND) — A “singer” in an Artificial Intelligence band announced she would be leaving the band because she is “pregnant.”
The band is called Baby Queen and even though it is an AI group, many fans didn’t know this information, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The group’s singer is named Mity and the AI-generated individual put on social media that she found out she was pregnant and would be stepping back from the group.
“After thinking about it for a long time and talking things over with the company and my members, I’ve decided to take a break from the team for now to focus on resting and taking care of myself,” the post reads.
Mity said that it was not an easy decision to make.
“Everyone worked so hard, yet plans had to change because of me,” she said. “I don’t take their efforts for granted, and I won’t run away from my responsibility.”
Baby Queen was reportedly created by K-pop fans who create storylines for the band.
The Daily Mail reports that the fans created this storyline as a “plot twist” because it was too hard to manage four different AI-band personas at once.
“Baby Queen is a fictional, AI-generated girl group created by a small team of K-pop fans in China,” the Artists Without Autotune Instagram account wrote in a statement.
This story comes amid conversations about artificial intelligence and its impact on music and the entertainment industry.
