The stars of the first day of Louis Vuitton’s jewellery shows in Mallorca were popular actresses, models and singers from the Asian market, boasting millions of followers on social media.

They are relatively unknown in Spain, yet at Bellver Castle they were received with full honours as the major celebrities they are in countries across the Far East.

Actresses, models and singers from the Asian market, boasting millions of followers on social media.

Among them were South Korean actress and K-pop singer Shin Min-a; Filipino actress and singer Heart Evangelista, who has over 16 million Instagram followers; Thai actress and model Urassaya Sperbund, known as Yaya, who has 13 million followers; and Chinese actress Jin Chen. The new collection

According to leading fashion and jewellery magazines, this seventh edition presented in Mallorca “is a tribute to unparalleled mastery and boundless creativity, with 110 unique pieces divided into two worlds: the World of Mastery and the World of Creativity”.

The collection includes, among other pieces, “everything from a rare 30.56-carat triangular-cut black opal to the radiant sparkle of Eternal Sun”, all of which were unveiled at Bellver Castle to showcase “Louis Vuitton’s incomparable savoir-faire, architectural precision and visionary craftsmanship”, as highlighted by the specialist press.

Secrecy

The councillor for Culture in Cort and the highest political authority responsible for Bellver Castle, Javier Bonet, stated that “Louis Vuitton has paid the maximum amount permitted by the municipal bylaw for Bellver.”

He made the remark following controversy over the low rental price compared to other monuments leased to the luxury French fashion house — such as Park Güell, for which Barcelona City Council received €573,000.

According to Bonet, “it’s probably too little,” he said of the €175,000 that Palma City Council will receive. “Of course we would have loved to charge more for an event of this kind, as any money the administration can receive is always welcome.” However, he added, “it is the highest fee ever paid for Bellver Castle since the bylaw was passed.”

Regarding the secrecy maintained by the French multinational about what was taking place inside the fortress, Bonet explained that “it was the same as with Amazon Prime when it held a private event during the previous term, just as Tui Cruises did, along with 24 other events — from dinners to a pre-wedding celebration, with everything that such parties involve — all authorised by the previous administration without any fuss.”

Palma’s iconic Castell de Bellver

Palma’s iconic Castell de Bellver has become the stage for an unprecedented event: Louis Vuitton is unveiling its latest high jewellery collection at the historic site before a select audience of international guests, celebrities and global media. The monument has been closed to the public for eight days to accommodate three exclusive fashion shows and gala dinners held on 26, 28 and 30 May.

The exclusive event, directed from Paris and wrapped in secrecy, is bringing together the French brand’s top jewellery clients—members of the ultra-wealthy global elite personally invited by LVMH, the empire led by Bernard Arnault, named the world’s richest man in 2024 by Forbes.

The first gala evening, held on 26 May, featured a high jewellery catwalk show and a dinner for around 200 guests. A second, taking place tonight, will follow the same format, with the final event set for 30 May. In total, 700 VIPs are expected to attend across the three nights, with most staying in some of Mallorca’s most exclusive hotels, including the legendary Formentor and La Residencia in Deià, both operated by LVMH’s luxury hospitality brand, Belmond. The island has seen a significant influx of private jets, along with the full deployment of its fleet of luxury vehicles and chauffeurs.
