Aurora to celebrate Canadian music and culture at Saturday Night Fever event

The heart of Aurora will pulse with Canadian pride on Saturday, Sept. 6, as the town hosts its highly anticipated Saturday Night Fever event. From 4 to 11 p.m., Yonge Street — between Wellington Street East and Mosley Street — will be transformed into a vibrant celebration of music, food and community spirit.

This year’s Canadian-focused musical theme promises to deliver a dynamic lineup of live performances. The evening kicks off at 4 p.m. with After the Gold Rush, a soulful tribute to Neil Young. At 6:15 p.m., fans of country-pop can enjoy a tribute to Shania Twain, followed by a performance at 9 p.m. by From the Hip, honouring legendary rock band The Tragically Hip.

In addition to the music, attendees can indulge in a wide variety of culinary offerings from local restaurants and food vendors, available throughout the evening for a small fee. From classic Canadian comfort food to unique gourmet bites, there’s something to satisfy everyone.

Residents are encouraged to wear red and white, wave their flags and sing along as Aurora comes together to celebrate the essence of Canadian culture. Families and friends are welcome to bring portable chairs for seating comfort.

The event is generously sponsored by Magna, and attendees are invited to share their concert experiences on social media using the hashtag #AuroraSNF.
