Azerbaijan, World Bank discuss future cooperation-PHOTO
A meeting with the World Bank was held at the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan on June 11, APA-Economics reports.
First Deputy Minister of Finance Anar Karimov received the World Bank’s Country Manager for Azerbaijan, Stefanie Stahlmeister, and the Bank’s Head of the Public Administration and Institutional Development Program for the Europe and Central Asia region and Practice Manager in this field, Adrian Fozzard.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank, and the Azerbaijani government’s interest in expanding this cooperation was noted. It was noted that Azerbaijan has benefited from cooperation with the World Bank for many years, and that the projects financed by the Bank in various fields and the technical assistance provided have made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, views were exchanged on technical assistance on reforms in the field of public finance management, which are currently being implemented with the support of the Bank, and on the opportunities for future cooperation in this framework.
