Bali records 697,000 foreign tourist arrivals in July, highest in 2025
Denpasar (ANTARA) – The Bali office of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) has reported a continued increase in foreign tourist arrivals, with July 2025 recording the highest number of visits so far this year.
In July, a total of 697,107 international visitors arrived directly in Bali, representing a 9.29 percent increase from June’s 637,868 arrivals. June had also shown growth compared to May, which recorded 602,213 visitors, indicating a steady upward trend in international tourism to the island.
“During the high season, the number of international arrivals via air in July rose by 9.30 percent month-on-month, although arrivals by sea declined,” said Ari Kurnianto, Head of the Public Relations Team at BPS Bali, in Denpasar on Monday.
The latest figure also surpassed the same month last year. Compared to July 2024, which recorded 625,665 arrivals, July 2025 saw an 11.42 percent year-on-year increase.
BPS attributed the rise partly to seasonal factors, such as Australia’s winter school holiday and heatwave warnings in parts of Europe, which may have influenced travel decisions.
By country of origin, Australian tourists continued to dominate with 161,051 arrivals in July. They were followed by visitors from China (59,651), India (45,288), France (38,460), and South Korea (38,275).
Among these, French arrivals saw the sharpest growth, surging 60.70 percent from June’s 23,933.
By region, European tourists led the surge with 206,280 arrivals in July, followed by Asia (197,528), Oceania (179,171), and fewer than 100,000 arrivals each from ASEAN, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa.
Cumulatively, Bali recorded 3.98 million international arrivals from January to July 2025 — an increase of 12.46 percent compared with the same period in 2024.
