Benidorm once again welcomes performing arts lovers with the 3rd Theatre Showcase, an event that blends professional talent with the passion of local amateur companies.
This cultural invitation will take place from 23 to 30 May at the Auditorium of the Cultural Centre and will feature a total of five theatrical performances.

The showcase opened on Friday 23 May with Madness: A Musical A Cappella Delirium, the latest production from the renowned company Yllana, who team up once again with the Prímital Brothers for a comedy that mixes music and social commentary with plenty of humour.
Described by its creators as “a musical a cappella delirium”, Madness features actors Manuel González, Adrián García, Pedro Herrero and Íñigo García, who bring to life the characters of a musical comedy that explores the deep mysteries of a secret society — all through intricately arranged vocal performances. The play is peppered with nods to today’s tech-driven world.
Around 300 people enjoyed Yllana and Prímital Brothers’ Madness, including the councillor for culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, who attended the opening night along with other members of the local government.
From classical drama to light-hearted comedy
The second evening, Saturday 24 May, will be led by the Municipal Theatre Workshop, which will present an adaptation of Medea, the classic tragedy by Euripides. Directed by Manuel Troncoso, this version revives the emotional power of Greek drama with a contemporary approach.
On Wednesday 28 May, Alpí Teatre will perform En la luna, a modern piece by Alfredo Sanzol that blends nostalgia and humour to depict the dreams of a generation that lived through Spain’s transition to democracy. The play, winner of several Max Awards, is described by director Ricardo Molina as “a tribute to our parents”.
Thursday 29 May will see Tossal Teatre take to the stage with Melocotón en almíbar by Miguel Mihura — a classic comedy full of light-hearted fun. “It’s a feel-good piece that the audience will absolutely love,” said director Manuel Palazón.
A fantastic finale with a local flavour
The showcase will draw to a close on Friday 30 May with the Benidorm premiere of Teatro 360’s El laberinto del tiempo (The Labyrinth of Time), a play written and directed by Arlene Iribarren. This fantasy comedy follows a group of characters trapped in a time loop during an extravagant dinner party. “There’ll be humour, secrets and plenty of surprises,” the playwright teased.
Affordable tickets and season pass
Tickets are already available at www.entradasatualcance.com, priced symbolically at €4 for amateur performances and €15 for the professional show by Yllana and Prímital Brothers. A full-access pass for all five performances is also on offer for just €25 — the perfect choice for those who don’t want to miss a single show.
“We invite everyone to get their tickets and join us — we’re sure they’ll have a fantastic time,” said Jaime Jesús Pérez.
Culture is taking centre stage in Benidorm, and everything is ready for the curtain to rise on a week of emotions, laughter and talent.
