Bennett of No. 4 Women’s Hoops Named Peggy’s Scranton Athlete of the Week

Sophomore forward Elizabeth Bennett of The University of Scranton women’s basketball team averaged 15 points per game to help lead the Lady Royals to a pair of wins at the Daytona Beach Shootout and for her efforts has been named the Peggy’s Scranton Athlete of the Week for the period ending Dec. 30, 2024.

This marks the first career Peggy’s Scranton Athlete of the Week award for the Staten Island, NY native.

In Sunday’s 84-42 win over Bethel University, Bennett scored 13 points and added three boards and block. On Monday, Bennett recorded a career-high 17 points to lead the Lady Royals to a 77-48 win against Colby College. 

Bennett ranks third on the team in scoring this season at 8.8 ppg.
