Bersamin, Estrella, Angara gov’t caretakers while Marcos is in India
MANILA, Philippines — Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella 3rd and Education Secretary Sonny Angara will serve as government caretakers while President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is in India for a five-day state visit, Malacañang said Monday.
The President and his delegation will leave Manila on Monday morning and will arrive in India in the afternoon.
His delegation includes Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Teresa Lazaro, Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., Trade Secretary Cristina Roque, Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick Go, and several other Cabinet members.
Marcos is visiting India from August 4 to 8 upon the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The President’s first schedule in India is a meeting with around 200 Filipinos, who are mostly staying in New Delhi, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The President will have official and business events and will also deliver a foreign policy address at the Observer Research Foundation.
Marcos will call on Indian President Droupadi Murmu, have a bilateral meeting with Modi and meet with the president of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and Minister of Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda.
The President will also visit Bangalore, India’s Silicon Valley, to take part in business events.
Marcos will return to the Philippines on Friday, Aug. 8.
