Beyoncé Likely Spent Over $100,000 on Gifts for ‘Cowboy Carter’ Backup Dancers, and Fans Don’t Think It’s Enough

Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter Tour” became a cultural spectacle, blending country-inspired aesthetics with her signature high-energy performances. And her backup dancers played a crucial role in bringing that vision to life. Dressed in western-chic costumes that mirrored Beyoncé’s bold stage looks, the dancers seamlessly fused traditional country flair with hip-hop, contemporary, and African-inspired choreography. Each routine felt like a conversation between Beyoncé and her dancers. To give them thanks for their job well done, the R&B star gave each of her dancers a Louis Vuitton bag. But fans think this might be a sign of low pay.

Beyoncé reportedly gifted her ‘Cowboy Carter Tour’ backup dancers Louis Vuitton bags

Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter Tour” closed on a triumphant note, cementing its place as one of her most ambitious and boundary-pushing productions to date. The tour not only showcased her unmatched vocal power and commanding stage presence but also served as a cultural milestone, blending country storytelling with her signature fusion of R&B, pop, and hip-hop. Beyoncé reportedly had 29 backup dancers bring her show to life. They greatly enhanced the visuals and also allowed her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, to shine onstage.

According to Forbes, dancers on the tour tagged Beyoncé and Parkwood, her entertainment company, on social media after showing that the star sent them gifts. Beyoncé reportedly sent her dancers Horizon 55 rolling luggage from Louis Vuitton. Each luggage piece retails for around $3,500.

“Congratulations on the completion of the Cowboy Carter Tour!” the note from Parkwood sent to each dancer reads. “Thank you for all your hard work and dedication the last couple of months. We hope you enjoy your gift and know that we greatly appreciate all your contributions to this tour and its success.”

With 29 dancers, Beyoncé likely spent around $101,500 on the luggage if she paid the expense herself — and that doesn’t include shipping.

Fans aren’t impressed by the gift, as they believe it signals low pay for the dancers

Beyoncé’s Louis Vuitton gift to her “Cowboy Carter Tour” dancers wasn’t well-received by all fans. Some fans on Reddit believe Beyoncé should just pay her backup dancers more rather than give them expensive luggage. Others know that the R&B queen has a partnership with the luxury brand, which likely factored into how much she paid for the gifts.

“I, too, pay my mortgage in empty suitcases,” a fan on Reddit sarcastically commented.

“She gave them free bags from a PR brand deal she gets paid for, how generous of her,” another fan wrote.

“This is so out of touch,” yet another fan wrote. “You don’t want to travel internationally with luggage like that (it makes you a target). Also, why luggage? Purses, jewelry, and watches [get] so much more use. Idk anyone who wants an LV piece of luggage. I know people who buy LV, and they didn’t buy the luggage. … Why not just a money bonus? Sometimes doesn’t smell right here.”

Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter Tour’ grossed a record-breaking amount of money

Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter Tour” shattered expectations at the box office, breaking records as one of the highest-grossing tours of all time. With sold-out stadiums across the globe, the tour pulled in staggering numbers that highlighted not only her enduring star power but also the cultural impact of the “Cowboy Carter” era.

According to USA Today, the tour surpassed $400 million in earnings with over 1.5 million attendees. This makes it the highest-grossing country tour of all time. And it’s also the shortest tour to gross over $400 million, as it only hit the road for three months. Beyoncé also solidified her legacy as the highest-grossing Black artist and R&B artist of all time, as she’s had two separate tours grossing over $400 million in earnings.

With this in mind, fans are more sure than ever that the Louis Vuitton luggage isn’t cutting it.
