Bitcoin slides below $80,000 for first time since November 10, 2024 – Business & Economy

MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. The price of Bitcoin has declined below $80,000 for the first time since November 10, 2024, according to Binance platform data.

As of 5:44 a.m. Moscow time (2:44 a.m. GMT), the cryptocurrency lost 6.08%, selling at $75,555.

By 6:00 a.m. Moscow time (3:00 a.m. GMT), the Bitcoin rebounded to $80,786 (-4.63%).

Bitcoin is a decentralized system of cryptocurrency of the same name based on blockchain technology, which can be mined by any user – participant in the system, by creating new blocks of the system.

The concept was published in November 2008 by its author (possibly a group of authors) under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin has reached its peak of popularity only in recent years. Bitcoin issuance is limited by nature, and most Bitcoins have already been mined.
