For a politician, it is the kind of question that can lead to all sorts of trouble. When Gordon Brown was put on the spot and asked who his favourite band was, he said that he liked Arctic Monkeys, only to then fail to name a single song except to say that they were “very loud”.

Matt Hancock once claimed to be “a grime fan” and Theresa May was widely mocked for her robot dancing on stage to Abba.

Now the King has entered the fray by compiling an Apple Music playlist with a selection of songs he says have brought him “joy”.
