Brand New Day’ Suit Revealed as Filming Begins
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially begun filming, and the first look at Tom Holland’s superhero suit has been revealed. The upcoming MCU sequel is going back to basics with an all-new design that seemingly homages previous iterations of the Marvel hero.
Sony Pictures released a teaser for Spider-Man: Brand New Day that celebrates that something “brand new is coming” for Spider-Man Day. The suit in question is still mostly hidden away in shadow, but the sneak peek confirms that it will feature raised webbing and a new logo. It looks to be a different costume than the one featured at the end of Now Way Home, when Peter Parker embraces his new life as the hero. A full suit reveal could arrive later in the day. Check out the teaser below.

‘Spider-Man 4’ Gets Official Title That Ushers in a New Era for Tom Holland’s Web-Slinger
Sony has finally unveiled the official title for ‘Spider-Man 4,’ and it seemingly references a new era for the web-slinger.
The raised webbing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day is an homage to past live-action versions of the suit. The costume Tobey Maguire wore in Sam Raimi’s superhero trilogy included the distinct webbing, as well as Andrew Garfield in Amazing Spider-Man 2. When both actors reprised their roles in No Way Home, they returned with the same design. It seems Holland’s character will be taking a page out of his more seasoned counterparts after teaming up with them. It’s unclear if either actor will return in Brand New Day, but the confirmed cast includes Holland, Sadie Sink, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Jon Bernthal.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Is Going Back to Basics
The practical suit design for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a welcome sight for fans that have long desired the MCU films to divert from CGI-only suits. This seems to be a part of a larger initiative by director Destin Daniel Cretton and the rest of the creative team, who are said to be going back to “old school filmmaking” for the Spider-Man sequel. Tom Holland recently stated that the COVID-19 pandemic heavily affected how No Way Home was put together, but that won’t be the case for Brand New Day.
“We were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of Covid … Now we’re really gonna lean into that old school filmmaking and shoot in real locations … We are gonna use the streets of Glasgow for this massive set piece that we are putting together.
“It’s gonna feel like a breath of fresh air … fans are gonna be over the moon with what we’re putting together”
As Holland teased, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently prepping to shoot an extensive set piece in the streets of Glasgow, Scotland. The massive production is said to be closing 60 roads, a far cry from the blue-screen heavy filming done in the past films. Fans are already spotting props from the Glasgow set, with some speculating that Mister Negative and his Inner Demon goons form part of the sequence. If the rumors of Spider-Man and the Punisher (Jon Bernthal) teaming up to take down a Savage Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and a Spidey villain are true, then Marvel fans are truly in for a ride.
