Despite signing a lucrative deal to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour, Bryson DeChambeau has surprisingly earned less than 13 PGA Tour stars this season.
DeChambeau’s LIV Golf season has been a rollercoaster so far. He finished T6 at the season-opening event in Riyadh, but then had a disappointing run with T18 at Adelaide and T20 at Hong Kong. DeChambeau’s displays and complaints have been met with a fierce reaction from one golf critic.
He managed to break into the top 10 with a tied-10th finish in Singapore, before hitting his stride with a fifth-place finish in Miami ahead of The Masters. At Augusta, DeChambeau lost momentum after entering the final day paired with Rory McIlroy, who went on to win his first green jacket in a playoff.

However, DeChambeau rebounded from his Masters disappointment by finishing tied-second at Mexico City, where Joaquinn Niemann claimed his third win of the LIV Golf season. Niemann leads the pack with $12,604,905 in earnings, while DeChambeau trails in eighth place.
Despite not having won on the Saudi-backed circuit this season, DeChambeau has earned $4,033,250. Astonishingly, 13 PGA Tour stars have out-earned DeChambeau this year.
McIlroy tops the earnings with a hefty $13,326,650, followed by Justin Thomas’ impressive $6,920,663 tally. The list goes on with Russell Henley at $6,223,775, young star Collin Morikawa raking in $5,939,464, Ludvig Aberg snagging $5,704,223, and Andrew Novak pocketing $5,587,605.
Further down the line, Scottie Scheffler has amassed $4,929,197, Maverick McNealy earned $4,808,051, J. J. Spaun notched up $4,698,535, Hideki Matsuyama grabbed $4,674,913, Sepp Straka took home $4,628,709, Corey Conners secured $4,201,631, and Justin Rose made $4,119,619.

Bryson DeChambeau bagged himself a mega-deal, reportedly clinching a $125 million contract to swing with LIV Golf as of June 2022. His commitment extends over four-and-a-half years, binding him to the LIV Golf series exclusively until the end of the 2026 season.
Yet, the 31-year-old might have pocketed even more than the media suggests. On the “Country Club Adjacent” podcast, when DeChambeau’s grin was pegged at “$125 million smile” he intriguingly hinted, “That’s a little low,” before adding, “I’m not gonna say the details, I mean for what’s reported it’s somewhat close. It’s a four-and-a-half-year deal, I can definitely tell you that and a lot of it was upfront, which is great.”
DeChambeau, eager to snag more cash and his inaugural LIV Golf crown since his 2023 success in Mexico City, couldn’t match Niemann’s tempo. Post-round, the American reflected: “The golf course is gettable, but it’s diabolical, as well. There were a lot of moments where I felt like I was going to get it to nine, ten-under, and there were moments where I’m like, man, ‘I could be three-under or two-under easily if I don’t get my act in shape.
“It’s a teeter-totter golf course. You can hit a drive down by the green, but it depends on the lie, depends on the flag, depends on if you can make some six, seven-footers out here.”

As for earnings, DeChambeau’s cheque matches the hefty sums LIV Golf has been offering to lure golfing stars. It’s rumored that Phil Mickelson pocketed around $200 million for his sign-up, while Dustin Johnson, a winner of two majors, purportedly received close to $150 million.
Even Tiger Woods was approached by Greg Norman’s outfit with an eye-watering offer said to be near $1 billion. Yet, Woods declined and maintained his allegiance to the PGA Tour, further committing to the sport by introducing TGL.
