Carpet Booth Studio’s hosts musicians market and open house – ABC 6 News

Musicians from across the Med City gathered at Carpet Booth Studios on Saturday to network and tour the studios.

(ABC 6 News) – Instruments of all shapes, sizes and colors sat on the front lawn of Carpet Booth Studios while current and aspiring musicians from across the Med City chatted and learned from one another.

Each part of the lawn revealed a different vendor with either something to see, play or sell to those casually walking up. It was all part of Carpet Booth Studios’ Musicians Market and Open House, an event geared toward musicians to network and share stories of working in the industry.

Among the people there were KQAL, Winona State’s student radio station, as well as members from RCTC and various merch and music vendors.

Owner of Carpet Booth Studios, Zach Zurn, said Saturday’s event is in it’s third year and is put on in an effort to help make the Minnesota music community feel a little more personal.

“It can kind of be an overly broad kind of brush to paint with to just say there’s a lot of folks that work in music in Minnesota, but then to come shake the hands of folks that do these specific things, I guess humanizes and personalizes the actual community that we have going on,” Zurn said.

As folks made their way closer to the Carpet Booth Studio building, staff invited them inside for a tour to see all the equipment used in the recording studio.
