Carrie Coon Stuns in Ice Blue Chanel Gown at the 2025 Emmys

Is third time the charm for actress Carrie Coon? Coon is nominated at the 2025 Emmys tonight for the third time; tonight, she’s up for Best Supporting Actress (Drama) for her performance as Laurie, one of three friends who go on a girls’ trip to Thailand in The White Lotus season three.

“The idea was that these three women are on a vacation together, these lovely ladies who all look alike, almost like a big, blonde blob, at least at first glance,” creator Mike White told T&C. “Carrie is kind of a stealth bomber. You’re not exactly sure what the dynamic of these women is and where her character is going, but trust me, by the end it gets juicy. All of Carrie’s dramatic and comedic skills are put to use. If she seems to be in the shadow of her famous friend, she definitely steps out of it.”

She arrived at the 2025 Emmys solo, debuting a new pixie cut and wearing an ice blue Chanel dress. The gown is embellished with organza flowers, feathers, and crystal, and according to Chanel, the dress took 341 hours to craft. Coon also accessorized with Chanel High Jewelry, wearing Plume de Chanel earrings and a Jeanne ring.

Despite being in two of the buzziest shows of the year—The White Lotus and The Gilded Age (which is ineligible for this year’s Emmy awards due to when it aired)—Coon says “the average American doesn’t know who I am.” She told Town & Country in our February 2025 cover story, “I can walk down the street. I can go to the grocery store. Most of the moms at school have no idea. I’ve had conversations with people about shows I’m on, and they still don’t know they’re talking to me. It’s amazing.”

Next for Coon: She will star in her husband Tracy Letts’s 1996 play Bug on Broadway.
