CASI and the World Bank discuss sustaining and managing public financial capacities in Syria. – Syrian Arab News Agency
DAMASCUS, SANA – Deputy Chairman of the Syrian Central Authority for the Supervision and Inspection, Ali Mashkl, with representatives of the World Bank ways of sustaining and managing public financial capacities in Syria (P512516).
During videoconference, World Bank representatives were briefed on the project, its implementation mechanism, and its impact on the financial sector and, consequently, Syrian society as a whole.
They emphasized the need to sustain capacities to coordinate public financial management, improve compliance and transparency of public financial management functions, and ensure the accuracy and timeframe of the financial information used.
In a statement to a SANA correspondent, the Authority’s Deputy Chairman stated the Authority’s readiness to cooperate with the World Bank to implement the project in a way that serves the public interest, in coordination with relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Finance, the Central Authority for Supervision and Inspection, and the Central Bank of Syria.
This will be achieved by forming a working group of specialists to achieve the best results, create a suitable work environment, and provide assistance and advice on everything that would support public finances in Syria.
