Celebration of Pueblo art, music, film and more is underway
Primavera Pueblo, a monthlong celebration of arts, music, film and culture, is set to showcase Pueblo’s rich cultural tapestry through a series of more than 20 events.
Primavera Pueblo includes a diverse array of events and activities; from cultural festivals and family-friendly gatherings to educational workshops and outdoor adventures, the activities are designed to engage and celebrate Pueblo’s vibrant spirit.
“Multiple boards got together to collaborate on events that are happening throughout April and will happen every April for the foreseeable future,” said Andee Ames, one of the organizers. “The first week is Pueblo Arts Week, the second week is the Steel City Music Showcase, and the fourth week is the Pueblo Film Fest.”
In addition to the themed weeks, there will be “20 different really cool events throughout April,” Ames said.
Pueblo Arts Week
Pueblo Arts Week runs through April 11. It includes a diverse offering of arts events — most of which are free to attend — highlighting Pueblo’s thriving art scene. Activities include the First Friday Art Walk, Art & Music Wonderland, Levee Mural Tours, urban sketching, studio tours and more. For details, go to creativeconsortiumofpueblo.com/paw.
Steel City Music Showcase
The Steel City Music Showcase will run on five different stages in Downtown Pueblo from 5-11 p.m., April 11-12. The second annual showcase is set to highlight more than 40 artists, as well as food trucks and vendors.
Headlining the event will be Pueblo West’s own country music sensation Cody Cozz. Other performers will showcase everything from folk and mariachi music to rock, indie and heavy metal.
Tickets are on sale for $28.01 a day or $49.13 for a weekend pass. See the full lineup and get tickets at steelcitymusicshowcase.org.
Pueblo Film Fest
The Pueblo Film Fest will run April 24-27 with events at BloBack Gallery, the Pueblo Convention Center and Pueblo Memorial Hall. The cinematic celebration connects filmmakers and audiences through thought-provoking narratives, documentaries, and experimental works.
The festival features screenings across three theater screens, workshops, vendors, food trucks, and a red-carpet event.
The Steely Awards Show at Memorial Hall is set for 6 p.m., April 26. It is free to the public but reservations are required at forms.gle/45GxrjskhYyVhpag8.
