Someone get the creator of wikiFeet on the line because celebrity feet are making a comeback. Yes, you read that sentence correctly. The latest craze in celebrity shoe trends is showing your bare feet on the red carpet. Forget the fact that it’s mid-October because celebs are out here acting like we’re on spring break in Cabo.
Alexander Skarsgård recently made an appearance at the BFI London Film Festival for a screening of his upcoming movie Wicker on October 8. While on the carpet, the Swedish actor, 50, was photographed wearing a pair of see-through Oxford shoes. The transparent black shoes included vinyl laces, and he paired them with a gold, metallic suit. Subtle, really.

The shoes are from Saint Laurent’s spring 2027 collection, and the fashion house’s creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, had a fun explanation for the trend.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, Vaccarello said, “I asked myself: ‘Why torture women with plastic shoes, but not men?’” Well, the torture must’ve stopped with the material because fans were excited to see the actor making such a daring fashion choice.
“My only wish would be that he had his toenails painted,” one fan wrote on Reddit. Another added, “I now understand foot fetishes.”
Oh, and Skarsgård isn’t the only star willing to show their toes (for free, might I add!). Margaret Qualley has also jumped on the trend. The actress, 31, wore Chanel’s “barefoot sandals” on the red carpet for the world premiere of her movie, The Dog Stars, in August. Unlike Skarsgård, who had his feet covered, half of Qualley’s foot was touching the ground. She looked beautiful in her matching black Chanel dress, but I can’t imagine what the bottom of her feet looked like by the end of the night.

“The dogs are the star, alright,” one Reddit user joked. Another added, “Probably way more comfortable than heels let the dogs breathe.”
After seeing Skargard and Qualley’s questionable shoe choice, I figured there had to be other celebrities who opted to show off their feet in public. And I was right. In fact, Doechi took it one step further and decided to forego shoes altogether at the 2026 Met Gala. The “Anxiety” singer, 28, displayed her bare feet with only a henna design decorating them.
According to the singer, she wanted to feel “grounded” and decided to take the comfortable route. Can you really blame her?
