The government is working in close coordination with the Centre to build a “Viksit Delhi”, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Friday, as she unveiled a comprehensive ‘workbook’ outlining her government’s achievements in its first 100 days in power in the Capital.
Speaking at the Delhi Secretariat, Ms. Gupta said the 100-day workbook is a document chronicling Delhi’s development journey and will be continuously updated to reflect the changes.
“The greatest outcome of this election for Delhi is that the people now have a government that truly works for them. Each moment of ours is dedicated to Delhi, and going forward, we must work on a detailed plan for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed nation) and a ‘Viksit Delhi’ (developed Capital),” she said.
Titled ‘Kaam Karne Waali Sarkar: 100 Din Seva Ke’, the workbook highlighted various initiatives and projects undertaken by the government in Delhi, including Yamuna rejuvenation and e-bus procurement. It also mentioned lighting up dark corners of the city, heat action plan implementation, and allocating ₹500 crore for Delhi Fire Services, among others.
Public outreac
Noting that her government worked for 100 days with the sole aim of serving the public, the Chief Minister said over the next 10 days, these efforts will be taken to the people in all 70 Assembly constituencies.
“In every Assembly constituency and every ward, we will hold functions. In these programmes, Central government Ministers, MPs, Delhi government Ministers, MLAs, and councillors will not only share the government’s 100-day achievements, but will also gather suggestions from the public for future plans,” she said.
Alongside the workbook, the Chief Minister also unveiled a 20-point pamphlet summarisingthe government’s work and said that every household in Delhi would receive a copy.
The Chief Minister also announced that a grand public event will be organised at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday, where the government will present a comprehensive account of its 100-day achievements to the people.
‘Different from AAP’
Taking a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which governed the Capital for the past decade, Ms. Gupta alleged that the previous government had wasted public money and prioritised self-promotion over governance.
“Those were governments that sought fame. We are a government that delivers. They indulged in luxuries, while we are committed to service. They decorated palaces with corruption; we are shaping Delhi with integrity,” she remarked.
Asked about the most significant accomplishment of her government’s first 100 days, Ms. Gupta said it was the presence of a Chief Minister and a Cabinet fully committed to the people of Delhi.
“We are not doing politics in other States. We are focused on the people who elected us and on building a new model with better infrastructure. That is our biggest achievement,” she said.
The Chief Minister assured people that her government was committed to spending the budget of ₹1 lakh crore in a transparent manner.
Ms. Gupta is likely to visit Uttarakhand in the first week of June. She may visit Haridwar on June 1 and Kedarnath the next day, official sources said.
The BJP returned to power in Delhi after 27 years, winning 48 of the 70 Assembly seats in the election. Ms. Gupta took oath as the Chief Minister along with her Council of Ministers at a mega event at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on February 20, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
