Chanel Opens Flagship Store In Mexico City
The luxury market in Mexico has reached a new milestone with the opening of Chanel’s first flagship boutique in the country’s capital, inside the Artz Pedregal shopping centre.
With over 400sq m and designed by architect Peter Marino, the space offers a holistic experience that combines the house’s various categories: ready-to-wear, handbags, footwear, costume jewellery, watches, fine jewellery and accessories.
The new boutique replaces the temporary retail location that has been operating in the same complex since October 2023.
Its design evokes Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment at 31 rue Cambon in Paris, reinterpreted with a contemporary eye and a selection of artworks by artists such as Abelardo Morell, Johan Creten and Vera Lutter.
The space is divided into distinct rooms that recreate the brand’s universe. Highlights include the handbag lounges, featuring iconic models such as the 2.55, the 11.12 and the Chanel 25, as well as intimate spaces for footwear and ready-to-wear.
This is the second standalone Chanel boutique in Mexico, following the opening in Cancún announced in June. Currently, only Mexico and Brazil have full-concept stores of the historic French brand in Latin America.
