The cleaning of sewer lines in smaller lanes of the national capital is now going to be carried out using advanced , state-of-the- art machinery built for the purpose.
Notably, these machines, also called the mini- recycler are designed to easily access narrow lanes, and are capable of removing sludge from sewer lines along with performing effective cleaning of the pipeline.

On Saturday, this new machine was inaugurated in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who has informed that the government is in the process of procuring 16 more such machines, and they will be deployed in different areas of the city.
Gupta asserted that her government is working with utmost seriousness towards environmental protection and the modernization of the urban infrastructure.
CM explained that these advanced portable machines are equipped with modern technologies and multiple functions such as sewer cleaning, sludge removal, jetting, and suction.
Gupta has claimed that their use will not only make sewer cleaning operations more effective, and hygienic, but the entire process will also be environment friendly.
Notably, the area known as Vaishali, in Pitampura, which falls under the Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency, where this machine began operations, was facing issues such as bad roads, drains, and affected sewer systems.
CM has also announced the commencement of modern sewer line construction and wall-to-wall RMC road works in the area, that is being done at a cost of approximately Rs 2 crore.
