CM Majhi Grants 100 Acres For Science City In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the allocation of 100 acres of land for the establishment of a Science City in Bhubaneswar.

Science and Technology Minister Krushna Chandra Patra made the announcement following his participation in the National Technology Day celebrations held on Sunday.

Addressing the media, Minister Patra stated that the proposed Science City would play a pivotal role in transforming Odisha into a leading center for scientific research, education, and innovation.

“There are only two or three Science Cities in the country — in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and now, one will be set up in Bhubaneswar. The Chief Minister approved 100 acres of land for this purpose yesterday,” he said.

The Minister emphasized that the Science City will serve as a platform for students to engage with various scientific and technological developments.

“This will host regular events and exhibitions related to science and innovation. It will inspire students, broaden their outlook, and nurture a scientific temperament,” Patra noted.

He further informed that the Science City will be developed in the Chandaka area of Bhubaneswar. A biotechnology park is also planned as part of the project, which will offer opportunities for industrialists and researchers to innovate and showcase their work.

“To strengthen the scientific ecosystem across the state, science centers will also be established in every district. A nation can only progress if it is strong in science and technology. With this vision, Odisha is taking concrete steps toward scientific advancement,” the minister added.
