Coal India Q4 Update: PSU Maharatna to declare March quarter results on THIS date in May, final dividend eyed
Coal India Q4: Coal India Ltd announced on Sunday, April 27, that the company will hold its board meeting to declare its January to March quarter results for the financial year ended 2024-25. The PSU Maharatna will declare its fourth quarter results on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, according to an exchange filing.
“Meeting of Board of Directors of the company will be held on Wednesday, the 7th May, 2025, inter-alia, to consider, approve and take on record Audited Financial Results of the Company (Standalone & Consolidated) for the 4th quarter and year ended 31sl March, 2025 after the results are reviewed by the Audit Committee of the Board,” according to the exchange filing.
Coal India dividend
Coal India will likely announce a final dividend payment for the financial year ending 2024-25, along with its fourth-quarter results on May 7, 2025. The board of directors will recommend an amount per share for the issue, which will be subject to the approval of the shareholders at the PSU giant’s next board meeting.
“Board of Directors of the company may also, inter-alia, consider and recommend payment of Final Dividend for FY 2024-25, if any, subject to approval of shareholders intheensuingAGM,” said Coal India in the filing.
The upcoming final dividend issue will be the company’s third dividend in the 2025 fiscal year, according to Mint’s earlier reports.
Coal India Q3 Results
The PSU coal mining firm’s consolidated net profits for the October to December quarter dropped 17.5 per cent to ₹8,491.22 crore, compared year-on-year (YoY) with ₹10,291.71 crore in the same period a year ago.
Coal India’s revenue from core operations witnessed a 2 per cent YoY decline to ₹32,358.98 crore in the third quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year, compared with ₹33,011.11 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
Total raw coal production for the third quarter rose to 202.014 million tonnes, from 198.994 million tonnes in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
Coal India Share Price
Coal India shares closed 1.78 per cent lower at ₹392.70 after Friday’s market session, compared to ₹399.80 at the previous stock market close. The results date was announced on Sunday, April 27.
The PSU-giant’s shares have given stock market investors more than 160 per cent returns on their investment in the last five years. However, the stock has lost 13.35 per cent in the last one-year period.
On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, Coal India shares have gained 1.6 per cent in the last one-month period.
Coal India shares hit their 52-week high levels at ₹544.70 on August 16, 2024, while the 52-week low level was at ₹349.20 on February 17, 2025, according to BSE data. The company’s market capitalisation stands at more than ₹2.42 lakh crore, as of the stock market close on Friday, April 25.
