Concordia women’s soccer team finally finds the net but falls to Bethel – InForum
MOORHEAD — Kate Corradi’s goal in the 49th minute broke a 10-match scoreless streak for the Concordia women’s soccer team Saturday.
Unfortunately for the Cobbers, it wasn’t enough to overcome a Bethel team that picked up its first win of the season with a 4-1 result over Concordia in a MIAC contest played at Jake Christiansen Athletic Complex.
Corradi’s goal was the first for Concordia since Oct. 22, 2024 when the now-graduated Emily Larsen scored against the same Royals squad to earn a 1-1 draw.
The Cobbers (0-5-3) had gone nine straight matches without a goal prior to Saturday.
Bethel took a 2-0 lead at halftime and doubled that total in the second half. Malia Beilby scored twice for the Royals.
Bethel outshot Concordia 20-14 with an 11-8 edge in shots on target. Cobbers goalkeeper Julia Roark finished with seven saves.
Concordia visits Carleton at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1.
Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
