ConX 2025 unites 800 travel leaders in Mallorca
More than 800 B2B travel leaders gathered in Palma on 22 May for ConX 2025, organised by Travelgate. The event was held at Son Moix Stadium, in Mallorca, Palma (Spain). It was ConX’s fifth edition.
The conference explored industry trends under the theme ‘Connected: Business, People, Ideas’.
ConX was sponsored by Huawei – with support from Smyrooms, Ávoris and HotelDistribute. Delegates included executives from hotel groups, OTAs, tech providers and airlines.
Travelgate CEO Pedro Camara opened the event, calling ‘Connected’ more than a theme – “It’s who we are, it’s what we do.” He said the travel industry remains resilient, with Q2 2025 showing strong recovery after a slow start.
Key sessions included:
- B2B growth strategies: Executives from Mize, Traveloka, iOL and others said that a smart approach to data was key to meet the demands of rapid digital change.
- India’s travel boom: Speakers cited 76.8m inbound visitors and forecast 50m outbound by 2030, driven by infrastructure and healthy demographics (a young population).
- Non-travel brands in tourism: FLIGGY and Digitrips said partnerships and data insights are helping retail brands enter the travel industry.
- Planning in uncertain times: HBX Group’s Javier Cabrerizo advised ditching 10-year plans in favour of 3-year strategies.
Former easyJet CEO Johan Lundgren gave a keynote on leadership and transformation. He reflected on challenges like Brexit and the pandemic that majorly affected the travel industry. “It’s great to run a major airline,” he said, “but not if you can’t fly.”
AfterX 2025, the event’s networking day, takes place 22 May at Nikki Beach, sponsored by Mize. Over 1,000 B2B executives are registered for a day of meetings, fine dining and entertainment.
