CSS men’s soccer shut out in loss to Norse

The St. Scholastica men’s soccer team finished their first game without a goal on the board, but were able to blank their opponent as well, resulting in a 0-0 draw. On Saturday, they hoped to get their first goal and first win of the season against the Luther Norse.

The first half saw both teams with a handful of scoring chances, but the Norse were the first to get on the board with a goal from Francesco Mungari putting them up 1-0.

Later in the half, a cross from Enzo Metidieri was buried by Paul Menge and the Norse doubled their lead.

The Saints were unable to generate any momentum in the second half, letting up four more goals and ultimately losing 6-0.

Their next game is on Friday, September 5 at Carroll University.
