Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez expressed the need to protect the United Nations (UN) from the threat the United States government currently represents to its founding principles.

Havana, Cuba.- We have a duty to protect and strengthen it. We must avoid subordinating it to the priorities and capricious rules imposed by those who provide the most funding, the island’s top diplomat noted in his profile on X, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of that intergovernmental organization.

Founded in 1945, the UN facilitates cooperation on matters such as international law, international peace and security, economic and social development, humanitarian affairs, and human rights. (PL)
