Delegation to World Bank Spring Meeting briefs Kiir South Sudan’s participation – The City Review South Sudan

President Salva Kiir received a comprehensive briefing on Wednesday regarding South Sudan’s recent participation at the 2025 Spring Meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) held in Washington, D.C.

Vice President and Chairperson of the Economic Cluster Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel attended the briefing, which focused on the nation’s economic agenda, key stakeholder interactions, and opportunities to foster international collaboration.

The Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. Marial Dongrin Ater, said that while in the US, they presented the country’s economic outlook and the government recovery plans to support the economy and put in place a stronger and more inclusive growth trajectory.

Dr. Dongrin explained that the delegation held fruitful negotiations with different stakeholders, including government officials from the United States.

“The interactions were aimed at consolidating bilateral ties and wooing entrepreneurs to come and invest in the available opportunities in various sectors in South Sudan,” he said as quoted by the presidential press unit.

Meanwhile, President Kiir emphasized his administration’s commitment to creating a favourable and facilitative environment for both foreign and domestic investors, affirming that economic growth is a matter of national importance.
