Delhi BJP Kisan Morcha chief urges action against black-marketing of subsidised urea fertiliser
Delhi BJP Kisan Morcha chief and Municipal Councillor Vinod Sehrawat on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the Station House Officer of Narela, urging strict action against those allegedly involved in the black-marketing of subsidised urea fertiliser provided by the central and Delhi governments.
Sehrawat said that those involved in such acts have been depriving farmers in Delhi of their rightful share for the past 27 years.

In his memorandum, he stated that irregularities in fertiliser distribution and cases of adulteration have been occurring continuously, while government-labelled fertiliser bags are often allegedly replaced with other packaging.
He also alleged that this subsidised urea fertiliser is being sold to factory owners for high commissions, who then misuse it in the manufacture of fake cottage cheese and milk, posing a serious health risk to the public.
According to the BJP councillor, farmers have complained about this issue multiple times, and he has also brought the matter to the attention of the Delhi CM.
The memorandum submitted by Sehrawat also included a list of alleged dealers involved in the black-marketing of subsidised fertiliser.
He explained that the government procures DAP fertiliser at Rs 4,850 and provides a subsidy of Rs 3,500, so the farmer pays only Rs 1,350 per sack.
Similarly, the government procures urea at Rs 1,900 and offers a subsidy of Rs 1,635, so farmers get it at Rs 266 per sack.
However, corrupt shopkeepers allegedly sell it on the black market to factory owners for Rs 650–700 per sack.
He has sought an investigation into the matter, asking that it should also be checked whether fertiliser is actually being sold at these locations.
He urged that the wholesalers’ licences be cancelled and the distribution of fertilisers be entrusted to cooperative societies or government agencies to ensure that farmers do not face shortages in the future.
