Delhi issues traffic advisory ahead of IPL match at Arun Jaitley Stadium

New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals, scheduled for Wednesday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The match is expected to attract a large crowd, leading to potential traffic congestion in the surrounding areas.

Commuters have been advised to avoid roads around the stadium, particularly Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, and Ring Road near Rajghat, between 4 pm and 11.30 pm. Traffic is expected to be heavy due to the arrival of spectators, and the advisory urges people to plan their travel accordingly, steering clear of the affected routes during match hours.

Only vehicles with valid parking passes will be permitted in designated areas near the stadium. The public is encouraged to use alternative modes of transport, especially the Delhi Metro, to ease access to the venue. The nearest metro stations to the stadium are Delhi Gate (Gate number four) and ITO (Gate number three and four), both on the Violet Line.

Additionally, no heavy vehicles or buses will be allowed on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, or Ring Road between Darya Ganj to Rajghat and Guru Nanak Chowk to Delhi Gate during the specified time frame of 4 pm to 11.30 pm.
