New Delhi: A massive fire broke out at the popular Delhi market, Dilli Haat, on Wednesday night. The well-known arts, crafts, and food market is situated in south Delhi’s INA area. While no casualties have been reported so far, substantial damage has occurred, with several stalls gutted.

At least 12 fire engines were rushed to the area to douse the flames. The fire broke out around 8.55pm. Firefighters battled thick clouds of smoke and rising flames that engulfed a major section of the market. The blaze was brought under control after an hour.

Delhi minister Kapil Mishra confirmed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) at 9.51pm that the fire had been extinguished and no casualties had been reported. “There are no reports of any casualties in the fire. I am going to Delhi Haat,” he wrote.

Dilli Haat is known for its handicraft stalls representing artisans from various states and its food plaza offering regional cuisines from across the country.
