In a major breakthrough in India’s public transport system, the country’s first Hyperloop test track is now fully ready. The Railway Ministry shared its video on Monday and announced that another important step has been taken towards a high-speed transport system. Developed by IIT Madras, the Hyperloop test track is 410 meters long. Indian Railways has provided financial assistance to complete this project.
What is Hyperloop?
Hyperloop is an advanced transportation technology in which a train travels at extremely high speed through a special vacuum tube. Travel in the hyperloop trains is safer and faster. If the trial is successful, this technology can completely change India’s public transport system.
Trains In This Hyperloop Will Run At A Speed Of 1100 km/h
High-speed rail technology, capable of reaching 450 km/h, could significantly reduce travel times. A 30-minute journey is feasible with this technology, potentially enabling travel between cities like Delhi and Jaipur, or Mumbai and Pune, in approximately half an hour if implemented nationwide.
Now, the trial run will be expected to start soon on the Hyperloop Track. If the trail is successful, then the cutting-edge technology can be used on a large scale in India.
Big Change In Public Transport
If the hyperloop train starts in India, the entire structure of public transportation will change. The hyperloop technology is not only fast, but it’s also very energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
India is among a small group of nations exploring the implementation of Hyperloop technology. The impact of this technology on India’s transportation infrastructure remains to be seen.
Notably, countries like China and Japan are also working on hyperloop technology to make their train more faster and better. China’s T-Flight maglev train project is making substantial progress in hyperloop technology, targeting speeds of up to 1,000 km per hour.
