Delhi to launch digital single-window clearance system for event permissions: Kapil Mishra
The Delhi Government is planning to launch a digital single-window clearance system that will enable event organizers to quickly and efficiently obtain all required permits and licenses through a single digital platform in the national capital.
Delhi’s Minister for Tourism, Art and Culture, Kapil Mishra, on Monday convened an important meeting with senior officials from the department and prominent leaders from the event management industry.

Discussions centered around designing a comprehensive and culturally rich policy framework under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to position Delhi firmly as a global event hub.
According to the minister, Delhi is transforming from being merely the center of governance into a new symbol of creativity and a premier events destination.
A major proposal discussed at the meeting was the launch of the ‘Digital Single-Window Clearance System,’ aimed at strengthening and streamlining the event industry in Delhi.
Other topics covered included multi-platform sponsorship models, strategic capital subsidy schemes, and the provision of financial and marketing support to promote the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, and Conferences & Exhibitions) sector.
These initiatives are intended to enhance Delhi’s global appeal as a leading destination for hosting events, officials said.
Another key suggestion discussed was the introduction of **GST relaxations** to boost the destination wedding industry.
Industry stakeholders also proposed simplifying the permission process for hosting events at Delhi’s historical and cultural heritage sites, allowing both domestic and international organizers to better showcase the capital’s rich legacy.
A major concern raised during the meeting was the exorbitant rental rates of venues in Delhi. Event professionals alleged that organizers are often charged unreasonably high fees.
Responding to this, Mishra said, “The government is taking this matter seriously and will ensure a transparent and fair system for venue allocations.”
Participants highlighted the rapid growth of the events industry, which is now valued at over ₹16,000 crore, and emphasized the urgent need for Delhi to establish an international-standard convention center.
Officials from the Department of Art, Culture & Language also proposed that government-sponsored events be featured on commercial platforms to enhance visibility and public engagement.
Mishra assured attendees that the Delhi Government would extend full support to the events industry at every level. He added that policy reforms will soon be introduced to make the venue allocation process more transparent and efficient.
