Demon Hunters’ Finds Fast Success on Netflix
This MCU star, and someone who just so happens to be the most unforgivably underrated action hero of the hour, is now smashing his way to success on Netflix. The streamer has now unleashed its latest action horror flick, which follows a trio of demon hunters tasked with saving the world from a devil-worshipping criminal network. And how will they save the world you ask? Why, by punching everything in sight, of course.
And doing the punching is one of the best punchers in the game, Train to Busan, Eternals, and The Roundup star Ma Dong-seok, aka Don Lee. As demonstrated in every action movie he‘s ever been in over the last several years, Lee throws some of the biggest punches you’ve ever seen, and this time they’re being aimed at the faces of demons.
Released on Netflix at the end of July, the action horror movie that allows Lee to once again use his giant fists for good is Holy Night: Demon Hunters. Directed by first-time filmmaker Lim Dae-hee, who wrote the screenplay alongside Lee, Holy Night: Demon Hunters finds the MCU star sharing the screen with Seohyun and Lee David as the main trio of demon hunters, with the rest of the cast including Kyung Soo-jin, Jung Ji-so, and Cha Woo-jin. Holy Night: Demon Hunters has now made its way into Netflix’s “Global Top 10 Non-English Movies,” debuting at #4, and you can check out the official synopsis below.
“Seoul descends into chaos as a devil-worshipping criminal network emerges. In a desperate plea for salvation, the police turn to ‘Holy Night’—a secretive trio of demon hunters armed with supernatural powers. Don Lee (Ma Dong-Seok) leads as Ba Woo, a powerhouse with immense physical strength. He’s joined by Sharon (Seohyun), who can detect and exorcise demons, and Kim-kun (David Lee), their loyal support. When psychiatrist Jung-Won (Kyung Soo-Jin) begs for help to save her possessed sister Eun-Seo (Jung Ji-So), the team faces a terrifying force unlike any they’ve seen before.”
Ma Dong-Seok’s Punches Are “Award-Worthy”

Holy Night: Demon Hunters now boasts a solid score of 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, with Sarah Musnicky of But Why Tho? advising that you “Come for Ma Dong-seok’s award-worthy punches and stay for Seohyun’s dynamic onscreen charisma and power and the terrifying Jung Ji-so.”
Don Lee has long been a hugely underrated action star, particularly when it comes to the Western world. Joining the MCU as Gilgamesh in the divisive Marvel movie Eternals, the actor delivers thrilling fisticuffs over and again in the likes of The Outlaws, The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil, Badland Hunters, Unstoppable, and The Roundup franchise. Speaking exclusively with MovieWeb back in 2023, the actor revealed that he is now working on the fifth and sixth installments in The Roundup series…
“I’m preparing the following [movies in] The Roundup series, five and six. And I’m also currently working with some Hollywood directors and studios to create various films and TV series. I’m working on remaking my previous Korean film The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil in Hollywood. At the same time, I’m also waiting for the next project with Marvel Studios.”
