Detroit Retro Society Band on Feb. 7 to perform 75 years of Detroit music
The Detroit Retro Society will cover all genres of Detroit artists, including the soul of Motown, the funk of Parliament Funkadelic, the rock of Alice Cooper, The Stooges, and Grand Funk Railroad, as well as legendary icons like Aretha Franklin, Bob Seger, Madonna, Eminem, and Greta Van Fleet, among others.
LAPEER — The Center for the Arts of Greater Lapeer will present The Detroit Retro Society Band on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the PIX Theatre in downtown Lapeer. This high-energy, musical celebration will take the audience on a journey through “Detroit Music: Past to Present,” showcasing 75 years of Detroit’s dominance in the global popular music scene.
The Detroit Retro Society will cover all genres of Detroit artists, including the soul of Motown, the funk of Parliament Funkadelic, the rock of Alice Cooper, The Stooges, and Grand Funk Railroad, as well as legendary icons like Aretha Franklin, Bob Seger, Madonna, Eminem, and Greta Van Fleet, among others. Expect to hear a stunning array of hits from these artists, as well as those who shaped the world of music with their unique sound, including Stevie Wonder, The Romantics, The White Stripes, Kid Rock, Lizzo and more.
Additionally, this production highlights the influence of these musicians as they continue to inspire the next generation of talent at The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music.
