Mari Selvaraj’s film Bison Kaalamaadan has made a strong start in its first week. The movie features impressive performances by Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameswaran.
The Tamil sports action drama Bison Kaalamaadan had a strong opening at the box office, but its momentum slowed slightly by the end of the first week. The film is directed by renowned director Mari Selvaraj and stars Dhruv Vikram, Anupama Parameswaran, Pasupathi Ramasamy, Rajisha Vijayan, Ameer Sultan, and Anurag Arora. The film is loosely inspired by the life of kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan. Bison Kaalamaadan is a new addition to the Mari Selvaraj cinematic universe. Although audiences consider it not one of Selvaraj’s best films, it still showcases his signature symbolism, social criticism, and animal metaphors.
Bison Kaalamaadan Day 9 Box Office Collections
In terms of box office collections, Sacnilk has reported that the film has grossed a total of Rs 28.08 crore in India in its first eight days. On the eighth day, the film reaped an approximate amount of Rs 83 lakh, which was a 48% fall from its day before the earning of Rs 1.5 crore. The film is facing individual strifes at the box office with Dude and others which have better performances. Its cost of production is estimated to be Rs 30 crores, and the producers have already compensated for around 96% of it. Just with Rs 2 crore more, the film will be an approved case.
The latest numbers are such that the film is going to collect about Rs 3 crore on the ninth day, total Rs 32 crore at the end of day 9.

This is an important milestone for Dhruv Vikram. The actor had his first film in 2019 which was Adithya Varma and then went on to take home the Best Actor award at the 13th Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards and at the Zee Cine Awards in Tamil. Yet, the film did not lead to substantial revenues in cinemas. But with the help of Bison Kaalamaadan, Dhruv Vikram might just get recognized as a major star in the film world. The film has won the audience’s heart with electrifying action, a social issue, and a delicate way of storytelling. Mari Selvaraj is consistently paving his way as a director, and this movie has been a textbook example of how powerful one can be in their universe. The film has been a darling of both the viewers and the critics because of its good story, and thus, overall, it has received good reviews.
