Dominica: Harlem Sports Club of Football receives donation of Lawn Mower  

Roseau, Dominica: Harlem Sports Club has received a donation of a Lawn Mower to aid in the rehabilitation of the Newton playing field. The handing over ceremony was held on Saturday, May 20 at the Newton Savannah where the donation was made by Timbo’s Apartelle Inc.

Parliamentary Representative for Roseau South Constituency Chekira Lockhart Hypolite said that Lawn Mower cost in the region of 20,000 EC dollars. “The Lawnmower cost in the region of over 20 000 EC costs about five thousand U.S but as we know this mower is almost like a vehicle so when it comes to the port you have to pay Port charges we’re able to get some duty-free but there are fees that we cannot escape and so I assisted in giving almost five thousand dollars to get the lawnmower removed from customs and I recognize the importance of this lawnmower to upkeep and the maintenance of the playing field.”

She expressed her thanks for the timely donation. Parl Rep stated that Duncan once again she really want to thank for the investment that they have made in Harlem. In that regard Duncan store said that the donation reflects the businesses objective to ensure there is a positive relationship with residents. Duncan Stove- CEO of Timbo’s Apartelle Inc stated that one of their primary objectives at Timbo is to ensure that they are always good corporate citizens and they think that it is their civic duty is to interact with the residents who are in the area.

President of the Harlem United Football Club Don Leogal gave a brief history of how the donation came to fruition. He said that the hurricane Maria caused severe destruction and they tried to fix it a number of times. He added,”It was our primary target at the time he told me that okay he would look into it and he would make a contribution to the community in terms of the donation and several weeks later I send him some photos of what we are looking for and he went online and did his research and start the work.”
