Drishyam 3 on track: Ajay Devgn bowled by the script, here’s when the film goes on floor

Ajay Devgn fans are eagerly anticipating several upcoming films in his packed schedule. The actor is one of the busiest stars in Indian cinema, with two releases lined up before July and three films currently in production. Amid this hectic slate, excitement is building around the Drishyam franchise, with fans eager for updates on Drishyam 3. While Devgn is yet to complete three ongoing projects, the latest reports confirm that he has finalized the script for Drishyam 3 and scheduled filming after wrapping up his current commitments.

According to Pinkvilla, Ajay Devgn has given the green light to Drishyam 3 and has prioritized it after completing De De Pyaar De 2, Dhamaal 4, and Ranger. The report states that he will begin filming the third installment with director Abhishek Pathak between July and August 2025.

A source close to the development revealed, “Ajay was initially committed to another project in the July-August window, but he has now prioritized Drishyam 3. A couple of weeks ago, Abhishek Pathak and the writers narrated the script to Ajay, and he was completely impressed by the twists and turns in the screenplay. He is excited and ready to return as Vijay Salgaonkar.”

The source also confirmed that before starting Drishyam 3, Devgn will complete the filming of De De Pyaar De 2, Dhamaal 4, and Ranger. He is set to begin shooting Dhamaal 4 in March, followed by Ranger in May 2025. “Ajay’s schedule is packed until the end of 2025 with DDPD 2, Dhamaal 4, Ranger, and Drishyam 3. He is confident about all these films and is making an effort to offer a variety of genres—even within franchise films—to cinema audiences,” the source added.

Beyond Drishyam 3, Devgn also has Golmaal 5 in the pipeline, which is expected to go into production after Drishyam 3. The fifth installment of the hit comedy franchise is currently in the early development stage, with director Rohit Shetty recently confirming that work is underway. Additionally, Ajay Devgn will be seen in Raid 2, set for release on May 1, 2025, and Son of Sardaar 2, expected to hit theaters by July 2025.
