Dropping A Quick F-Bomb In A Live Interview After Sending Your School To The Minnesota State Hockey Tournament As A Freshman Is As Nails As It Gets

The calendars are just about to flip over to March which means one thing and one thing only–it’s just about time for the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament to start up. Without a doubt the best sporting tournament to take place in the month of March.  

16 high schools across two class divisions (A, AA) in Minnesota head to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota to battle for a state championship over the course of 4 days. It’s home to some of the best high school hockey on the planet. Insane goals, electric celebrations, and of course–the All Hockey Hair Team. 

This will be the first year that Hibbing/Chisholm will be back in The Tourney since 2011. Technically they have freshman Whitaker Rewertz to thank for that, as he’s the one to knock home the overtime winner to send the Blue Jackets to the tournament. But before we talk about Whitaker, let’s just take a real quick moment to shoutout #2 here. Holy shit, what a play. Toe drag at the top of the circles, forehand backhand through the slot, and just leaves that puck sitting right on a platter for the freshman to tap home. Sick stuff out of #2, and great job of being Johnny On The Spot from the freshman. But after hearing this fella in his post-game interview on the ice, there was never a doubt that he would have the nails to end that game. 

Maybe he had to have a little chat with the principal today when he got into school, but that had to be worth every moment. The kid was born to be a hockey player. A tiger can’t change his stripes. Any time you put a microphone in front of a hockey player’s face while he’s still on the ice, there’s a 100% chance of an F-bomb flying out there. Don’t want your station to have to pay the FCC fine? Maybe wait until the kid puts back on his civilian clothes to do the interview. But you ask a few questions on the ice, especially after a massive overtime dub? It’s honestly impressive he was able to restrain himself from letting any more fly.
