The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas hosted a Homecoming Coloring Activity, featuring a coloring sheet of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff mascots, Legend and Reign.
Prizes were awarded to the top three winners.
A’kari Miller, a fourth grader at Coleman Elementary School in the Watson Chapel district, won first place.
Dakota Brooks, a fifth grader attending Taylor Elementary School in the White Hall district, won second place.
Autumn Washington, a third grader at Friendship Aspire Academy in Pine Bluff, won third place.
Ten local K-6 elementary schools participated and submitted a total of 888 entries to the ASC for judging, according to a news release.
UAPB congratulates the winners and their families. Each winner received a gift bag of goodies that included a UAPB T-shirt, a towel and three tickets to the UAPB vs. Grambling State football game.
“We extend thanks to all who entered and a special congratulations to the following elementary schools who participated by submitting an overwhelming number of entries: Broadmoor, Coleman, Edgewood, Friendship Aspire, Gandy, Moody, Taylor, The Learning Lounge, 34th Avenue, and Southwood. Your active participation made this event a resounding success,” according to the release.
UAPB art and design student and ASC intern Chanel Hester designed the coloring page.
“We are grateful for the support of our sponsors, the Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation, McFarland Eye Care, the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, whose contributions made this possible,” according to the release.
