Both soaps will be pulled from the air next week to make way for more live sports coverage.
Here’s what the changes are and which episodes the TV schedule shake-up affects.
Emmerdale and Coronation Street to see schedule change on ITV next week
Both soaps are being removed from the schedule on Thursday (November 12) and Friday (November 13).
On Thursday, Emmerdale and Coronation Street will be replaced by live coverage of England’s UEFA National League match against Croatia at Wembley Stadium, which begins at 7pm with kick-off at 7.45pm.
ITV’s Mark Pougatch will present the Group A3 fixture, which will take up the usual soap slots of 8pm to 9pm.
Croatia suffered their heaviest ever defeat in the reverse fixture in Rijeka last month.
Braces by Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka and strikes from Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon and Morgan Rogers saw the Three Lions 7-0.
Emmerdale normally airs from 8pm to 8.30pm, followed by Coronation Street from 8.30pm to 9pm, in a soap “power hour”.
The disruption continues Friday night due to ITV’s broadcast of the Nations Championship rugby match between France and South Africa, kicking off at 8.10pm from Stade de France.
Coverage of the match will again take priority, airing from 7.15pm to 10.35pm.
Emmerdale star to leave soap for new role
In other ITV soap news, Emmerdale fans will soon say goodbye to one of the village’s newer arrivals.
Bradley Riches, who joined the ITV soap in May as Lewis Barton, has confirmed he is taking a break from the show.
Mr Riches said: “That’s a wrap at Emmerdale for now.
“A little time off before heading to pantoland.
“So excited for what’s ahead for Lewis in 2027.
“Feeling very lucky and grateful, as always.
“See you on your screens soon.”
Lewis Barton is the long-lost son of Emma Barton, played by Gillian Kearney, and was later revealed to be the son of Kev Townsend, played by Chris Coghill.
The storyline focused on Lewis and Kev overcoming obstacles to build a relationship, ultimately leading to Kev adopting his son’s surname.
Off-screen, Mr Riches is set to take on a new role as Peter Pan in this year’s pantomime at the Sunderland Empire.
Mr Riches is also known for his roles in Heartstopper and Celebrity Big Brother.
