Every child of Delhi should get an equal, modern and inspiring education environment — Sood

The government is working with full commitment at both the level of resources and policies to increase the level of education in Delhi — Education Minister

New Delhi – Education Minister of Delhi  Ashish Sood today participated in the orientation program with the children and their parents who came for the new academic session at Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Chirag Delhi, Delhi. Children of Nursery, KG and Class I along with their parents, Director of Education, Principal of the school and teachers of the school were also present in the orientation program.
At the beginning of the program, the Education Minister greeted all the little children and also thanked their parents for getting their children admitted to the government school. He said that today on this occasion, I feel very proud that I am among you.
Sood, while directly communicating with the parents of the children, said that how many of you are there, whose children have come to school for the first time. You are afraid that the child has been separated from you. He gave the idea that you should know where your child comes. What kind of environment does he get in the school. You should know that my child is going to the right place, how are the teachers there, the people there. Apart from the teachers, many people work there, is my child safe in the school. You will be able to know all these things only after coming to the school. That is when the idea of organizing such programs came to the government’s mind. Where the parents of the children can talk to the principal and teachers of the school without hesitation. This orientation program has been organized so that you and your children feel the environment here as their own, and can adjust to it.

Sood told the parents present that I want to tell you that 40 years ago, these government schools produced doctors, engineers, IAS, actors, scientists etc. But for some time now, there has been a tendency to look down upon government schools as inferior to private schools. You people should not have the feeling in your mind that my child is studying in a government school and will not be able to become anything. These government schools of Delhi are in no way inferior to private schools. Under the guidance of the Honorable Prime Minister of Delhi Narendra Modi and the leadership of the Chief Minister of Delhi Smt Rekha Gupta, the government is going to provide every facility in the government schools of Delhi where your child can progress.

He said that when the child comes out of the safe environment of the house, where he neither has to get up on time nor worry about food, nor worry about studies. The story of changing the life of children starts from the first class of the school. You people will also have to cooperate in that. Therefore, I request you not to underestimate these schools in any way. This feeling will be filled in your mind again and again that where does your child study. In the coming 5 years, technology support will be available in these government schools. Smart classrooms equipped with AI, computer labs, etc. are being installed in the government schools of Delhi, which will not only make the children aware of these new technologies but will also help them prepare themselves for the future.
He also said that the Delhi government has given many schemes for your children, such as scholarships for SC-ST children. Scholarships will be given to the children who come first in studies and scholarships will also be given by the government for giving competitive exams. He also said that the government will neither keep any kind of shortage nor any discrimination will be done to encourage children in the field of education. In these schools, the capable teachers here also arrange remedial classes for the children who are weak in any subject during the summer vacations.

Sood said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the Delhi government will leave no stone unturned in providing high level education to your children in every school. Therefore, you do not need to feel inferior that you have admitted your child in a government school. Rather, you should be proud that your child is a star and one day he will definitely shine in the sky of this school. All you parents, do not stop believing in your child and do not stop believing in the teachers here.
The Education Minister while addressing the parents said that today a phase of change has started in your life too. Now, because of the child, your school and your studies will also start again. You will be made to remember A-B-C again. Only when you will remember, you will be able to make the child remember. Through such programs, you will get information about in whose hands your child will be, what kind of environment our child will go to. Therefore, give us your suggestions. In every way, the Delhi government will work to make your children a shining star in this sky.

He also said that along with education, the Delhi government is also encouraging children to participate in sports. He said that under the Chief Minister Sports Promotion Scheme, the Delhi government will now give an amount of Rs 7 crore to Olympic and Paralympic medal winners for gold medal, Rs 5 crore for silver medal and Rs 3 crore for winning bronze medal. Along with this, in Asian Games and Para Asian Games, players will be given an amount of Rs 3 crore for gold medal, Rs 2 crore for silver medal and Rs 1 crore for winning bronze medal. He also said that the medal winners of Commonwealth Games and Para Commonwealth Games will be given a reward of Rs 2 crore for winning gold medal, Rs 1.5 crore for winning silver medal and Rs 1 crore for winning bronze medal. Apart from this, national and para national level winners will be given a cash prize of Rs 11 lakh for winning gold medal, Rs 5 lakh for winning silver medal and Rs 3 lakh for winning bronze medal. This amount is the highest in the country. It is a challenge for us to make your children’s lives better. New children have joined the schools in the lower classes from today. The government is fully alert to ensure that all of them stay here safely and comfortably. All of you come with faith in our teachers and our system. We will all try together to make your child a good human being. If he becomes a good person, he will do good work for your family, for the society, for the country, for everyone.
At the end of the program, the Education Minister also participated in the tree plantation program in the school premises. He said that this tree plantation should not be just a show-off but everyone in the school will have to make efforts to protect this tree.
